The New Bread Radio

Last updated: October 12, 2026

The New Bread Radio Corp. operates the New Bread Radio app and thenewbreadradio.com (https://thenewbreadradio.com). This policy describes what the app handles and how to reach us.

A hostable copy of this page lives at web/public/privacy.html. Publish that file so it is available at https://thenewbreadradio.com/privacy (or /privacy.html if the host does not rewrite the extension).

LISTENING

You can listen without an account. Audio and the track catalog stream from our third-party cloud hosting provider, so the track list can update without an app-store release. If the catalog can't be reached, the app uses an offline copy stored inside the app.

Those requests go to our hosting provider so playback and the catalog can work. We do not create a listener account, and we do not sell personal information.

ON AIR ANNOUNCES

On Air may play short Uncle Sourdough announcements between songs. When that runs, the app can send the previous and next song title (not the artist name) to our announcement service, which may use a third-party text-to-speech provider to turn the title announcement into speech audio.

Our announcement service fetches news headlines and a short weather line to write the half-hour bulletin. That request is about the news, not about you. We do not use your location. A time-of-day greeting, if you hear one, uses the clock on your device.

The request is about the songs, not about you. We do not send your name, email, or contacts for ordinary announces. If the announce request fails, the app plays a pre-recorded clip instead. Song intros stay title announcements.

REQUESTS AND SHOUT-OUTS

You can ask for a song and add an optional first name (a shout-out) so the host can say the song is for that name. When you send a request, we store the song and its title, the first name if you gave one, the time of the request, and a random request id created on your device. The request id is separate from the listening-statistics install id, so a request is not linked to your listening; we use it only to limit how many requests one device can send. We review requests before they air and mark a request as played after it airs. If we approve a shout-out, the host may say that first name on air, so anyone listening can hear it. Do not put your full name, email, or phone number in a shout-out.

ANONYMOUS LISTENING STATISTICS

The app always collects anonymous listening statistics. There is no setting to turn this off. While you use the app, it sends:

- Plays: songs heard for at least 30 seconds, with the song and how many seconds you listened

- Skips: the song and how many seconds you listened before skipping

- Likes and unlikes: the song you liked or unliked

- Time spent listening On Air

- When each of these happened, the app version, and whether you are on Android, iPhone, or the website

- Taps on the Follow us, Watch 24/7, and The Bakery Lounge links in the app (which link you tapped)

- Videos you open in The New Bread TV (which video)

- A random install id created on your device

Plays, skips, and listening time are added into daily totals for each song and each day; those totals do not keep the install id. A like is stored with the install id, the song, and when you liked it, so each device counts once per song, and unliking deletes it. The weekly Top 10 counts likes from the last 7 days. The install id is also used to limit how often one device can send statistics. It is not tied to your name, email, account, or contacts, it is not sent with song requests, and we do not combine it with anything you enter in Submit. These statistics go to our announcement service and are stored with our third-party cloud provider.

We use them to build charts such as the weekly Top 10 and other countdowns, to see which songs listeners play, skip, and like, and to improve the station. We do not sell them or use them for advertising. If you do not want these statistics collected, stop using the app. Clearing the app's data resets the random install id.

Since version 1.0.80, plays of 30 seconds or more, link taps, and video opens are also stored one by one, each with the random install id, the song, link, or video, the time, the app version, and your platform, with our chat service provider. We use them for the Top songs chart (songs ranked by how many different devices played them in the last 7 days) and to see which links and videos people use. Only the totals are shown in the app. These records are deleted after about 120 days.

LIVE LISTENER COUNT

While something is playing in the app (a song, On Air, LIVE audio, or a room in The Bakery Lounge), the app tells our chat service provider about once a minute that this device is listening, with the random install id and what kind of listening it is. The app shows the number of devices heard from in the last 2 minutes, for example "23 listening now". When you stop, the app removes the device from the count, and any entry not refreshed for 15 minutes is deleted. The app also asks how many people are in The Bakery Lounge to show "N in The Bakery Lounge"; that answer is only a number, with no names or ids. Your IP address is processed by the provider to deliver these requests, as with any internet service.

ERROR REPORTS

If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends an error report to our chat service provider so we can fix the problem. A report has the error message and technical details of where in the app's code it happened, the screen you were on, the time, the app version, whether you are on Android, iPhone, or the website, and the random install id. It does not include your name, nickname, chat messages, photos, or what you typed. At most a few reports are sent per session. Error reports are deleted after about 90 days. Like the listening statistics, they are always on; if you do not want them sent, stop using the app.

LIVE REACTIONS

During LIVE shows you can tap ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿž ๐Ÿ‘ in the app. The app sends how many of each you tapped, in small batches about every 20 seconds, together with the random install id and the app version. The install id is used only to limit how often one device can send reactions and is not stored with them. We keep only a total for each emoji for each day, and the app shows that day's crowd total to everyone. Reactions are not linked to your name, email, or song requests.

LIVE AUDIO IN THE APP

When you tap Listen live in the app during a LIVE show, your device connects to our third-party audio streaming provider to play the show. Like any streaming server, the provider receives your IP address and basic device information (such as the app or browser version) so it can deliver the audio and count how many people are listening. While the LIVE panel is open, the app also checks the provider's public status page about once a minute to see whether the show is streaming. We do not send your name, install id, or request id with these requests.

THE NEW BREAD TV

When you open a video in The New Bread TV, your device loads the video, its player and its thumbnail images from our third-party video hosting provider. Like any video service, the provider receives your IP address and basic device information (such as the app or browser version) so it can deliver the video, and it may count views. The app also downloads the public list of videos from our cloud hosting provider. Those requests to the video provider do not include your name, install id, or request id. Separately, the app counts that you opened a video as part of the anonymous listening statistics (the video and the random install id; see above). We do not use any of this for advertising.

LIVE CHAT

Chat is optional and only open during LIVE shows. When you tap Join the chat, the app signs in to our chat service, run by a third-party provider, with a random anonymous chat id created for your device. You do not need an email or an account. When you send a message, we store the message, the nickname you choose, the time, and that chat id.

Chat messages and nicknames are public: everyone using the chat can see them, and the host may read them on air. Do not put your full name, email, phone number, address, or anything else personal in a message or nickname. The nickname box starts with the first name you gave on the welcome screens, if any; that name is only sent if you keep it and join the chat.

The chat id is used to apply the chat rules (slow mode, message limits, mutes, and bans) and to let the host moderate. It is not linked to your install id, your request id, or anything you enter in Submit. If you report a message, we store the report and your chat id so the host can review it. If you block someone, their messages are hidden only on your device and nothing is sent to us. The chat provider also processes your IP address to deliver the service and limit abuse. Messages and reports are deleted automatically after about 7 days. Hosts sign in with an email address to moderate; listeners never need one. To ask us to remove a chat message sooner, email us.

THE BAKERY LOUNGE (LIVE AUDIO ROOMS)

The Bakery Lounge is the optional live audio rooms area in the app, hosted by The New Bread Radio crew. To use it, the app signs in to the same chat service as LIVE chat, with the same random anonymous chat id, and asks you to accept our Community Rules. We store that you accepted, which version, and when. When you join a room, your nickname, your chat id, your role in the room (listener, speaker, host, or moderator), and whether your microphone is on are visible to the other people in that room.

You always join as a listener with your microphone off. If a host or moderator invites you to speak and you turn your microphone on, your voice is transmitted live to the people in the room through our real-time audio service provider, which processes the audio on our behalf only to deliver it. We do not record or store The Bakery Lounge audio. Audio is processed only for the time needed to deliver it live. Like any internet audio service, the provider also receives your IP address and basic device and connection information so it can connect you. If you raise your hand, we store your nickname and chat id with the raised hand until you are invited up, lower it, or the room closes.

Microphone. The app asks for microphone access only when you choose to speak. You can turn your microphone off at any time in the room, and the app turns it off for you when it goes to the background. You can also turn off microphone permission in your device settings and keep listening.

Safety and moderation. To keep The Bakery Lounge safe, we keep records of room activity (such as who joined a room, when, and in what role) and of moderation actions (such as invitations to speak, mutes, removals, and bans). If you report a person or a room, we store the report, the reason, any note you write, the room, the time, your chat id, and the reported person's chat id and nickname, so hosts and moderators can review it. If you block someone in The Bakery Lounge, we store the block with your chat id so it stays in place, and your device stops receiving their audio. A ban applies to both The Bakery Lounge and LIVE chat. We use this information only to enforce our Community Rules. Join records are deleted after about 30 days. Reports and moderation records are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted, unless we need them longer to deal with ongoing abuse or a legal obligation.

Your choices. You can leave a room at any time, block people, and report a person or a room. To ask us to delete your The Bakery Lounge data, email thenewbreadradio@thenewbreadradio.com.

PROFILE PHOTOS

Profile photos are optional. If you add one, you pick a photo on your device or take a new one, and the app crops and shrinks it to a small square (256 by 256 pixels) on your device before sending it. Because the image is redrawn this way, the information photos usually carry, such as location and camera details, is not sent. We store the photo with our chat service provider, linked to your chat id, and show it next to your nickname in LIVE chat and The Bakery Lounge. Anyone using the app can see it, and anyone who has the link to the image file can open it. The app asks for camera access only if you choose to take a new photo. Picking an existing photo uses your device's photo picker and does not give the app access to your photo library.

Your photo is stored until you remove it. You can delete it at any time with Remove my photo (under photo in LIVE chat, or Your photo in The Bakery Lounge). It disappears from the app right away, and the file is deleted from our storage shortly after, usually within a few minutes. Hosts and moderators can remove a photo that breaks our Community Rules, and a ban removes your photo. These removals are kept with the moderation records described above. If you report someone's photo, it is handled like other reports. If you block someone, the app shows their initials instead of their photo on your device. To limit abuse, we record when you change your photo and limit how often you can do it. Those records are deleted after about 30 days.

SHARE CARDS

If you tap Share card, the app draws an image with the song title on your device and opens your phone's share sheet. Nothing about the card is sent to us; where it goes is your choice.

SUBMITTING MUSIC

Submit is optional. If you use it, we collect what you enter and the files you attach:

- Legal name and typed signature

- Email address

- Artist or project name

- Track title(s)

- Optional SOCAN / performing-rights information

- Whether the work is AI-generated, and whether it contains samples or is a cover

- Audio, video, or other files you choose to upload

- If you are under 18: a parent or guardian's name and email, and their agreement

That information is sent to our secure submission service so we can log your licence acceptance and store uploaded files. The app may also open an email to thenewbreadradio@thenewbreadradio.com as a backup, which uses your mail app. We open that mail app only if the upload does not go through.

We use this information to review submissions, keep a record of the licence, and consider tracks for the station. Airplay is not guaranteed. If you are under 18, the parent or guardian details are kept with that submission as a record of consent. A note that you accepted the current licence may be stored locally on your device so the form can remember that step.

ON YOUR DEVICE

Likes, the Clean / Explicit choice, the first name you can enter on the welcome screens (shown as a greeting on your screen; it is never sent to us unless you choose it as your chat nickname), your listening streak and badges, your chat nickname, the chat sign-in for your random chat id, the list of people you blocked in chat, the list of people you blocked in The Bakery Lounge, which version of the Community Rules you accepted, a random install id for listening statistics and LIVE reactions, a separate random request id for song requests, short queues of statistics, link taps, video opens, and reactions waiting to be sent, and similar player preferences stay in local storage on your device. Streaks and badges are worked out on your device and are not sent to us. None of this is sold. The install id is sent only with listening statistics (including link taps and video opens), the live listener count, error reports, and LIVE reactions, the request id only with song requests, and the chat id only with chat messages, reports, your profile photo, and The Bakery Lounge. Clearing the app's data removes all of it.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

We do not sell personal information. We do not record The Bakery Lounge. We do not require an account to listen. We do not use Submit details or listening statistics to sell advertising.
